As the nation’s vaccination drive is happening at a brisk pace, Telangana state health sector is gearing up to inoculate the Covid vaccine for private healthcare workers in the state from Monday.
Few government hospitals and vaccination sites also facilitate mop-up vaccination sessions of the Covid vaccine to government healthcare workers so as to ensure that they get the jabs in case they missed out in the first round of the inoculation drive.
With the growing demand of the vaccine jabs, site’s management urged government to provide the trained vaccinators within the premises to accelerate the process. Hence vaccinators from the local District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) are currently being employed at private hospitals to administer the vaccine. Private healthcare facilities like nursing homes and clinics with less than 50 healthcare workers have tied up with the nearest government healthcare.
Subsequently, also with the aid of a nodal officer at the site who coordinates smooth flow of the schedule and ensures necessary infrastructure, private hospitals are now expected to administer 100 vaccines at the same facility.
The inoculation drive will be conducted on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The sessions are planned to be held only after scheduling through the Co-WIN portal and offline or non-CoWIN sessions have been restricted. As per the state health ministry orders, health centres will begin vaccination early in the day and complete by 3 p.m.
