Six Indian passengers, who flew back to Chennai from UK via New Delhi, were tested positive for the covid-19 amid raising panic about the new strain. They were identified to be five from Delhi and one from Chennai. Recently health ministry group attended a critical meeting to examine the situation. But the positive test reports that a new strain of the Covid-19 virus is spreading quickly in the nation, is giving scares to the public globally.
The individual who returned to Chennai was admitted to Kings medical institute in Chennai under high medical supervision and subjected to quarantine. Further details of the other passengers has not been disclosed yet.
The health ministry officials sent the swab samples of identified passengers to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for genomic analysis to determine whether they are infected with old or the new variant.
