The Delhi police cordoned off Nizamabad area where several people showed Corona virus related symptoms after 2500 people took part in a religious gathering.
Six persons from Telangana who attended a religious congregation at the Alami Markaz between March 13 and March 15 in south Delhi’s Nizamuddin area died after testing positive for coronavirus.
The Telangana Chief Minister’s K. Chandrasekhar Office (CMO) on Monday midnight said the Covid-19 has spread among those who were some citizens hailing from Telangana and the dead were undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the state after their samples were tested positive
Out of the six coronavirus related fatalities, two are at the Gandhi Hospital and one each in Apollo Hospitals, Global Hospitals, Nizamabad and Gadwal. The special surveillance teams under the District Collectors have effectively identified 350 such persons who were in close contact with the deceased and are making strenuous efforts to trace them.
The government urged all the citizens who had attended the event in Delhi to self report to authorities, and has asked to alert the administration in order to prevent any further spread.
The State government announced that it will conduct tests and offer treatment for such persons at a free of cost.
