The story delves into how Chandu is falsely framed under the POCSO Act, how lawyer Teja finds all the truths to defend him, and how justice prevails in the courtroom.
What about on-screen performances?
Sivaji makes a memorable and solid comeback onto the big screen with a cruel yet impactful negative role. He literally breathes life into the character of Mangapathi and steals the show with his powerful portrayal. This is surely going be a character that will be remembered by many, especially by all the girls who come from strict families.
Priyadarshi delivers a sincere & nuanced performance in yet another interesting role as the lawyer who helps the couple. His settled act brings a lot of depth to the proceedings, especially towards the end in all the courtroom scenes.
Young actors, Harsh Roshan & Sridevi Apalla are excellent in their parts as the young couple. Their innocence works well for their roles and their performances make the teen love story believable. Particularly Sridevi impresses big time with her screen presence and her natural acting adds depth to the love story.
Harsha Vardhan also gives an impressive performance as the opposite lawyer who defends Sivaji’s family. All the courtroom sequences between him and Priyadarshi are impactful.
Other supporting actors, namely – Sai Kumar, Rohini, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Rajasekhar Aningi, Vishika & others are good in their respective parts and do full justice to their characters.
What about off-screen talents?
The story by Ram Jagadeesh is the need of the hour as it raises some important questions on the POCSO Act and is very well written with some engaging courtroom scenes that keep our interest going.
The screenplay too is gripping without much lag or a boring scene. The first half sets up the love story beautifully, with the conflict arriving at the right time, and ends with a perfect interval portion where Priyadarshi comes forward to take up the case. While the second half is intriguing with well-executed courtroom scenes and engaging legal drama that revolves around the POCSO Act. The public perspective and the emphasis on the importance of the POCSO Act are superbly written with sensible scenes and the film ends on a happy note.
Director Ram Jagadeesh does an appreciable job with his debut film. He picks a unique & delicate topic that hasn’t been covered much lately and narrates cleanly without any vulgarity/discomfort. His writing and direction are strong and this can be seen in the way he has handled the love track and the whole second half.
Dinesh Purushothaman’s cinematography adds to the film’s realistic look, giving it a strong base. The visuals stay interesting and match the serious tone of a courtroom drama. His work is a key part of the film’s success.
The songs by Vijai Bulganin are decent. The ‘Premalo’ song is already a chartbuster and is beautifully shot too. His background score also adds good value to the narrative and enhances the mood of the film.
The edit by Karthika Srinivas is neat while the artwork by Vithal Kosanam is impressive as the court set is designed authentically.
The production values of Wall Poster Cinema are commendable.
