It is known that Telangana minister KT Rama Rao filed a defamation suit against TPCC president Revanth Reddy over the latter’s comments on increasing drug culture in the state.
Now, the TPCC chief received a shock in the Hyderabad City Civil Court. He has been served with a summons and the court imposed interim injunctions, preventing anyone from making any remarks on KTR. The next hearing has been adjourned to October 20.
We know the ED is currently investigating drug case in Telangana. Revanth Reddy targeted KTR for the same purpose. He has repeatedly mentioned KTR in the trial of drugs and ED cases. Making political criticisms, Reddy turned up the heat in Telangana in the name of the White Challenge.
KTR was outraged for dragging him into unnecessary controversy. With KTR approaching the court over this incident, the city court agreed with KTR’s lawyers’ argument and ordered that the Minister not be charged with drugs. This seems to have broken Revanth Reddy’s strategy of further using KTR’s name in the drug case. The court also asked the Congress leader to file a counter in the case.
