With the outbreak of Coronavirus in the world, many sectors are already witnessing a shut down of operations. And with the shut down of operations, the economic crash is also immediately followed.
Though the Governments across the globe are announcing a bailout, Indian government has not yet announced anything on the same.
But the ground reality is very different from Developed nations and developing nations. A lockdown might not affect too much for a developed nation, but for a developing nation like India, the number of people under poverty line and middle class is beyond 90%.
More than deaths from Coronavirus, the economic shut down is going to result in death from starvation.
The people who go for daily labour, usually bring the groceries from that day’s paycheck. Now the Police don’t allow them to come onto the roads. Without going to work, there is no income.
Therefore, no groceries and families end up hungry. There is a little relief for those who hold a white card but those rations are also limited. Political parties are demanding to give 5 thousand rupees per family to survive each month.
