Sonia Gandhi, the interim President of the Congress party, has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus just a day after the ED summoned her to appear before the agency for questioning in the National Herald case. The veteran leader along with her son Rahul Gandhi have to appear before the probe agency on June 8.
While speaking to news agencies, Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala said, “Congress president Sonia Gandhi tests positive for Covid-19. She has developed mild fever and some symptoms and has isolated herself and has been given requisite medical attention. As of today, her date of appearance before ED on June 8th stands as it is.”
Randeep Singh said that their chief had been holding a series of meetings with leaders and activists in the last week, and she might have contracted the virus through some of them.
