Meeku Matrame Chepta starring director-turned-actor Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam and Vani Bhojan received a mixed response from the audience.
Touted to be a romantic comedy film, the film is directed by Shammeer Sultan and produced by Vardhan Devarakonda and Vijay Devarakonda under the banner King of the Hill Entertainment.
On its first day, the film raked in 34 lakhs share in Telugu states Andhra-Telangana. It is interesting to note that the Nizam area collected 19 lakhs share in Nizam, where VD has a strong fan base. Worldwide, the film collected 47 lakh share.
As there are no other releases, the film may collect decent figures at the box office. But in terms of openings, it is a bit harder to cross the break-even number at the box office.
Meanwhile, Tharun Bhascker, who made his acting debut, has delivered a good performance in Meeku Matrame Chepta and his impeccable comedy timing is the highlight of the film. The scenes between Tharun and Abhinav are the major highlights of the film.
