Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting today on the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the state. In the review meeting at Tadepalli, the CM has directed the officials to speed up the Covid vaccination process.
Jagan directed the concerned authorities to vaccinate nearly one crore people in the next four to six weeks. He also directed that vaccination be carried out in urban areas from Monday. As a pilot project in the rural area, the vaccination process should be carried out 4 days a week in a Mandal, 2 villages per day.
After rectifying the errors if caused any during the pilot project, the vaccination process should be expedited. He opined that if the upcoming ZPTC and MPTC are completed at the right time, then the government would have focused more on the vaccination process. However, it is not known when the elections will be completed and they posed a barrier to vaccination.
Meanwhile, nearly 59.08 lakh people above 60 and people over 45 with other diseases are expected to be vaccinated. It should be noted that the Centre has issued new guidelines making people above 45 eligible to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
