The last week saw an incessant amount of rainfall in the Telugu states, with Telangana having been hit the worst. Most of the rural areas in the state have been hit by floods due to the huge amount of water clogging caused by continuous rains. Even several parts of Hyderabad have been severely hit due to the continuous rains.
Chief Minsiter KCR and Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan decided to visit the flood-hit areas, but the two will be visiting different regions and by different means of transport. While KCR has opted for an aerial visit to places, the governor has opted to visit the flood-hit areas by road. KCR has already left for Warangal on Saturday and will be staying in Warangal for the night. He would be surveying the area on Sunday morning aerially and assess the natural calamity that has taken place and the damages caused to the Godavari catchment zones due to the floods.
The Governor would be visiting the flood-hit areas of the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district at the same time and assess the damages that have taken place in the area. She even canceled her visit to New Delhi, where she was scheduled to meet with the President of India, Ramnath Kovind, to tour the flood-affected areas.
