Former Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar recently filed a private case at Eluru Mobile Court, accusing the YSRCP government of attempting to murder him at least twice in the last two years. He said that he would have been dead by now if the TDP leaders didn’t react on time. He said that his lawyer was warned by Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy several times and that his life was under threat simply because he was questioning the government’s unfulfilled promises to the people. In his petition, Prabhakar accused 21 people of conspiring to kill him, including CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishnareddy, former DGP Gautam Sawang, Navjyotsingh Grewal, and local police, among others. Senior lawyer E Srinivas Babu accepted the case and said that further proceedings will take place soon.
Talking to the media, Prabhakar said that the first attempt to kill him was made in 2019 and that the second attempt was made in 2021. He said that he was stopped by the West Godavari police on his way back from Daralamma temple, on 29th August 2021, who forcibly loaded him into their car and took him to the Chintapalli police station. He said that he was made to sign some blank papers at 11:30 PM the next day. He said that he was then taken from the Chintapalli police station at 5:30 AM and that he noticed the CI talking about his encounter with someone on the phone, upon reaching Doobacharla. Prabhakar said that his life was spared as TDP leader Atchennaidu and others came forward to the media, exposing the government’s plan, which was when the police withdrew their attempt at the last minute.
Prabhakar then spoke about how he happened to meet someone by the name of BVR Rao of Maitri builders, in 2019, who warned Prabhakar’s clerk Adi Durgarao, of a potential encounter, after which he decided to meet Rao. Prabhakar said that Rao called Sajjala, which was when Prabhakar happened to talk to Sajjala, who reportedly warned him that the Chief Minister was serious about him and that he would be killed if he was not going to shift his alliance.
