The re-polling in Chandragiri, is being conducted in seven polling booths, amidst of huge security measures.
In Pulivarthipalli, the native of Pulivarthi Nani, Chandragiri TDP MLA candidate, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy’s relative Keshava Reddy tried to woo the voters at the polling booth. Aggrieved over this, Nani went against him which resulted into a mini war between them. Police who were around, got alerted and filed a case against Nani. Keshava Reddy is acting as a general agent of YSRCP.
Even on April 11th, there were several disturbances at the polling booths across Andhra Pradesh, which resulted into the irregularities in the elections. It is unfortunate to witness the similar situations even during the re-polling.
Voting percentage in Chandragiri
Meanwhile, the voting percentage till 3 pm is recorded as 68%, when all the seven pooling booths where the repolling is being conducted is taken into consideration.
The booth-wise polling percentage is 71% in Pulivarthipally, 78% in Kalepally, 86% in Venkatramapally, 62% in Kotthakandriga, 55% in Kammapally, 72% in NR Kammapally, 67% in Kuppambaduru. The election officials are monitoring the electioneering, through the webcasting from time-to-time.
The re-polling in Chandragiri consituency is underway. The election commission has agreed to conduct the repolling, after a few of the YSRCP activists said that several people in the constituency could not vote on April 11th, due to the irregularities.
