Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu took everyone by major surprise when he announced Dharmavaram Subbareddy as the party’s candidate for Dhone, keeping aside the KE family, which has been in the constituency since 1979. This took place in Kurnool, during the politician’s Baadhude Baadhudu program, as part of which he’s touring districts.
Subbareddy is the first candidate to be announced by the TDP for the 2024 elections, and with his announcement, it is expected that the KE family might leave the TDP, given their history with Dhone. A similar incident happened in Allagadda, where Naidu refused to give Bhuma Akhila Priya a seat, following which she stayed away from the TDP.
With Naidu giving more importance to winning over seniority, it is being said that this is sending a strong message to the people of the state. More such surprises are expected from Naidu in the coming days, according to sources.
