The ICC champion trophy is officially underway for India now. The men in blue faced Bangladesh in their opening game of the tournament and managed a comfortable victory in the same.
In pursuit of the 229 runs target set by Bangladesh, India was fairly comfortable in the runs and ended up winning the game by margin of six wickets.
Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with his aggressive batting, and this was followed by a mature knock from Shubman Gill and also KL Rahul in the middle order.
India has now made a positive start to the tournament by winning the opening game and all the focus is now on the second game which will be against Pakistan and it will be played on February 23.
The final of the tournament is going to be played on March 9, and the expectation is that India will reach here. Winning the ICC tournament can come a long way in enhancing Rohit’s legacy as the captain.
