Recently, the AP State Election Commission announced the schedule of panchayat elections in the state.
In this context, the state govt has filed a House Motion Petition challenging the decision of SEC.
The High court said that it would hear the petition filed by the State govt on Monday.
The state govt asked the court to suspend the proceedings, saying that the elections could not be held in the state due to the corona vaccine dry run.
CS, on the other hand, explained to SEC the difficulties in conducting the elections under the present circumstances.
CS explained to SEC that it was not possible to hold the elections in February. Within hours of the delegation meeting with the SEC, the SEC issued a statement to hold the Panchayat elections in four phases.
Now, the govt has once again approached the High court challenging the SEC decision.
