Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Somu Veerraju, said that the Central government is about to keep tabs on the volunteering system of the YSRCP, in Andhra Pradesh, ahead of the Tirupati by-elections, in Tirupati.
Somu said that the Center has decided on such action as there are many rumours suggesting that the YSRCP is using the volunteer system to lure and attract the people of Andhra Pradesh to vote for the YSRCP. Somu also said that the YSRCP is distributing money to the people, in return for their votes, and that it is threatening to pull away all the welfare schemes from the people, through its ward volunteers.
Somu also accused the YSRCP of misusing the people’s money, as much as Rs. 310 Crores, on this volunteer system. Somu Veerraju also promised the people that the BJP would bring in better systems than the volunteer system, to help them out.
Apart from that, Somu Veerraju said that they would be complaining to the Election Commission of India, against the panchayat raj and revenue department officers, as they supported the YSRCP during the recently concluded local body elections when they were not supposed to take any sides.
