The Indian government has recently released a map, in which the name of Andhra Pradesh’s Capital has been ignored.
After declaring Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as the Union Territories, Sri Nagar became the capital of J&K and Ladakh got Leh. So to update the map, with the total of 28 states of the country, the Centre has released a new map. While all the states were mentioned in the map, along with the names of its capital cities, shockingly, AP’s capital was ignored.
It is to be remembered that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attended Amaravati launching program in TDP’s regime in the past. But the government under his leadership, ignoring Amaravati has shocked many.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has not opened up anything about the Capital city of the state till date. While he completely ignored the construction works of Amaravati, he neither denied nor accepted to continue it as the Capital City.

Meanwhile, a few opined that he would pick Donakonda as the new Capital for various reasons. There are also rumors that the dynamic CM is interested in decentralizing the development, scattering it to four to five cities of AP. Leaders like Botsa Satynarayana came up with their own versions on the Capital city. So unless, and until, Jagan himself opens up on the issue, none of the reports would get any authenticity.
So as there is no such clarity on the Capital till date, the latest map released by the Centre, may have skipped Amaravati’s name, unwilling to confuse the AP people, with some or the other names.
