In view of uncontrolled surge in covid-19 cases during the second wave, centre took cognizance of the situation to introduce an awareness drive for the second time. After a review spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, the Centre declared a strategical anti covid drive campaign to create awareness about Covid-appropriate behaviour at workplaces, health facilities and other public places from April 6 to 14.
The government affirmed that a marked reduction in being accordance with safe practices such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance could be the reason for the steep rise in infections. PM ordained central team constituting public health specialists and clinicians be sent to Maharashtra in response to immense surge in cases and deaths, and also to two other states, Punjab and Chhattisgarh due to a disproportionate number of deaths, an official statement said.
Innovative Initiatives like robots for distribution of masks, drones for monitoring containment zones, automatic surface disinfectants, contact-free health monitors, ornaments for beeping social distancing alerts, touchless lift panels and antiviral fabrics are expected to be introduced soon to scale up tech initiatives in link with Aarogya Setu app for contact tracing and self-assessment,.
