The Central government has now allowed vaccinating pregnant women against Covid-19 as well. The Health Ministry has announced that pregnant women are now eligible for vaccination, at any time of the pregnancy.
In a notable development, the Health Ministry on Friday admitted the recommendations of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) that Coronavirus vaccination is safe for pregnant women.
As per reports, the pregnant women may now register on CoWIN or walk into the nearest Covid Vaccination Centre (CVC) to get themselves vaccinated, the ministry said.
The vaccination program for all 18-year-olds across the country is in full swing. At the same time, the number of pregnant women infected with the virus is on the rise. The ICMR experts say that the vaccine is very important for pregnant women as the corona threat is looming for everyone. However, before administering the vaccine, they need to be explained about the side effects.
