The Telangana Rashtra Samithi, as per the orders of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, staged huge rallies and protests across the state, against the Central BJP, angry that the Centre is not procuring paddy from the state. This has reportedly not gone down well with the Central Government, which is looking to take serious action against the TRS.
The BJP central leadership summoned the state BJP leaders led by party president Bandi Sanjay, along with other MPs and MLAs to New Delhi to get first-hand information about what the TRS government’s strategy was. They met with Union Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, and Amit Shah is said to have told them that the burning of Modi’s effigies is a serious issue and the BJP has to shoot back at the TRS strongly.
Union civil supplies minister Piyush Goel, on the paddy procurement issue, said that the TRS government was the one that failed to supply the milled paddy to the Food Corporation of India, as per the targets, when the Centre was clearly ready to purchase enough quantities of rice during the Kharif season. He said that it is the mistake of the TRS government, and not that of the Centre’s. As a result of this issue, the BJP is expected to go all out against the BJP in the upcoming 2024 elections.
