Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone who gives reliable and credible information in connection with the case.
The CBI took over the investigation last year in June after the state agencies failed to make any progress in the case.
The CBI special teams, so far, questioned close to 2000 witnesses, including the family members and close aides of the deceased. However, the agency is still seeking credible information in the case and is now trying to contact anyone who may have reliable information.
Besides handing out a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh, the CBI has also promised not to reveal the identity of the people who give credible information regarding the case.
YS Vivekananda Reddy, the paternal uncle of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, was found assassinated under suspicious conditions at his residence on March 14, just a month before the assembly elections in the state.
