Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is currently busy with Bharat Jodo Yatra, has landed in legal trouble. MRT Music Label, the company that owns the rights of the KGF movie tracks, lodged an FIR against Rahul, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, and Congress social media head Supriya Srinate for using the movie songs in their Yatra without permission.
They registered the complaint with the Bengaluru City Police on Friday on charges of copyright infringement.
“The Indian National Congress has picked up the songs from this movie and without seeking MRT Music’s permission/license in any manner whatsoever has used these songs to create their marketing videos of their very latest Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign featuring Rahul Gandhi,” the company said in a press release.
The Yeshwantpur police have booked the Congress leaders under relevant sections of the IPC, Information Technology Act, 2000 and Copyrights Act, 1957.
