Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had high hopes for the two-day plenary of his party, which began today, on July 8th, at the Acharya Nagarjuna University. After a lot of suspense, Jagan’s mother, YA Vijayamma, was finally revealed to be attending the event. It was expected that she would speak first at the event, but Jagan ended up talking first, following which, his mother spoke.
Reports suggest that Vijayamma took the entire party cadre by surprise when she announced her resignation from the party. It is being said that she didn’t inform the same with anyone prior to making the announcement on the stage, causing major confusion among everyone. Of the entire plenary, Vijayamma’s resignation has become the talk of the town, and whatever her reasons may be, for resignation, people are interpreting it the way they want.
On the other hand, despite the huge crowd that was present for the plenary, the YSRCP wasn’t able to make them stay for long, as seemingly everyone disappeared after lunch. In fact, YSRCP party members themselves were scarcely seen after the arrival of plenary kits, which got over sooner than they arrived at the destination, with every party member taking away as many as they can. On the whole, the first day of the plenary event is being dubbed as a major setback for Jagan, and it is to be seen whether he will be able to bounce back from it on the second day or not.
