A controversy has erupted on social media following the circulation of videos recorded by Shimjitha Musthafa involving a fellow passenger named Deepak during a bus journey. The incident, which quickly went viral, has now raised several questions after new details emerged from the bus crew, CCTV footage, and Deepak’s family.
According to available information, Shimjitha Musthafa recorded seven separate video clips of Deepak while traveling in a crowded bus. However, she did not file any complaint with the police, nor did she inform the bus conductor or driver about any alleged misconduct at the time of the incident.
Statements from the bus crew have further added to the debate. The crew members said they did not notice any inappropriate behaviour or disturbance inside the bus during the journey. They also stated that no passenger approached them with a complaint.
CCTV footage from the bus has now surfaced and is being widely discussed. The visuals reportedly show both individuals getting down from the bus in a normal and calm manner, without any visible confrontation or distress.
Deepak’s family has strongly denied the allegations circulating online. They claimed that he has been subjected to public humiliation and character assassination based on incomplete information. According to them, the video was deliberately recorded and shared for online attention and publicity.
They further stated that the footage clearly shows Shimjitha initially standing parallel to Deepak and later changing her position in the crowded bus to record him. The family claims that the physical contact seen in the video happened accidentally when Deepak was lifting his bag while preparing to get down from the bus.
With no formal complaint filed and no evidence of deliberate misconduct so far, the incident has triggered a wider debate on social media trials, privacy, and responsible use of mobile cameras in public places.
Authorities are yet to make any official statement, while the case continues to draw attention online.
