The Telangana Assembly sessions saw tense moments as BRS leaders staged a symbolic protest at Gun Park on Saturday. Party working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) along with MLAs and MLCs held empty urea bags to highlight the fertilizer shortage faced by farmers in the state.
The BRS leaders raised slogans saying, “Ganapati Bappa Morya, farmers need urea.” They criticized the Congress government for failing to supply fertilizers during the crucial farming season and even during festival time. KTR said that farmers were left on the streets without proper support from the government.
The leaders demanded immediate supply of urea to farmers and held the ruling Congress responsible for the crisis. They said the government had no right to continue in power if it could not ensure basic needs like fertilizer supply.
Before the protest, BRS MLAs and MLCs also paid floral tributes at the Amaraveerula Stupam in Gun Park, remembering the sacrifices made during the Telangana movement.
The BRS has announced that it will continue to fight for farmers until the shortage is resolved. Farmers across Telangana are facing severe problems due to lack of urea, which is essential for cultivation.
This protest has now intensified political heat in Telangana, with BRS targeting the Congress government directly over farmers’ issues.
