Pawan Kalyan teamed up with director Samythirakani for the movie BRO, which also features Sai Dharam Tej alongside Pawan in the film. Ketika Sharma is the leading lady of the film, while director Trivikram Srinivas has provided the screenplay and dialogues for the film. The movie has been released worldwide today, and let’s see how it has turned out to be.
Story:
Markandeyulu is an extremely responsible guy who has to take care of his mother, brother, and sisters, and in the process of taking care of them and getting into better positions in his career, he forgets to live his own life. One day, he meets with an accident, which causes his death and takes him to TIME, who gives Markandeyulu a 90-day extension on earth. The rest of the film is about what happens in these 90 days and after that.
On-Screen Performances:
Pawan Kalyan is outstanding in his role, as expected, and is presented in the best possible way. Undoubtedly, this is his best effort since his comeback, in terms of his energy or styling or his overall screen presence. It is surely going to be a treat for fans to get to watch the kind of Pawan Kalyan that they have been missing all this while.
Sai Dharam Tej gets the heavier part of the deal, as he’s the one that needs to bring in the emotional connection and act upon it. He tries his best for sure, and despite that, one can’t help but feel that there is a lot more scope for him to connect with the audience, in terms of his emotional performance. Had that been better, the film would have given a much better feel to the audience on the whole. The actor’s efforts show through, and Sai Dharam Tej has tried to give his best to the film, considering his situation.
Ketika Sharma’s performance in the role is commendable, and her on-screen presence adds an extra layer of charm. The remaining supporting cast does not have a lot to do, but whatever they are given, they do well enough.
Off-Screen Talents:
Director Samuthirakani and writer Trivikram Srinivas have excelled at presenting Pawan Kalyan in an energetic and resonating way in the film during the first half of the film. After the excellent first half, the second half can feel a little slow, but by the time t the movie nears its end, it gives a complete and satisfied feeling to the audience. Trivikram’s trademark dialogues are quite good as well, and the scenes of Pawan Kalyan featuring his old songs are pure magic, invoking a lot of nostalgia in the audiences, and reminding them of vintage Pawan Kalyan. On the whole, director Samuthirakani managed to make a film that is faithful to the original, and also better than the original at the same time.
While the songs of the film turned out to be a major disappointment, music director SS Thaman has given a better background score for the film. He has not disappointed the audiences with respect to the background score and has once again proved that there’s no beating him in that area.
The cinematography of the film is good enough and suits the proceedings of the film quite well. The production values are top-notch, and the editing is also quite alright.
Plus Points:
- Pawan Kalyan performance
- Full feast elements for fans
- Crispy runtime
- Emotional climax
- Background music
Minus Points:
- Slight Lag in Second half
Verdict: If you’re a die-hard fan of Pawan Kalyan, then this is the film for you. Even otherwise, BRO has a good message and is quite entertaining for the general audiences as well, with the right amount of Fun and Emotion. This movie has potential to get family audience to theaters if marketing is done right.
