At first, she is looked down upon by her team, but as she finds key clues, she is added to the Special Investigation Team, which also has Sarathi(Ravindra Vijay). As Brinda starts connecting the dots related to the killer, she finds out that the same killer is involved in mass murders. Who is this killer? What is killing so many people? and did Brinda crack the case, which has a connection to her family. This is the basic storyline of Brinda.
What about on-screen performances?
Trisha makes a smashing OTT debut with Brinda. She plays an honest cop in this series and gives a spell-binding performance. Trisha is known for her glamor roles but she takes her role of Brinda like fish to water and gives a very emotional performance. Her towering act holds our attention until the end of the series.
Ravindra Vijay, who was last seen in Bahishkarana, gets yet another solid supporting role. He gives ample support to Tisha and is very efficient in the series. Rakendu Mouli, the noted writer, plays a challenging role, and he is very impressive.
Malayalam star Indrajit Sukumaran has a meaty role, and he also does well in the series. His classy performance is one of the highlights. Aamani also gets a crucial role as Trisha’s mother, and she excels.
The actress who played Trisha’s sister was also effective. But the one who steals the show is the main villain Anand Sasi. He is solid as the psycho-killer and gives a riveting performance.
What about off-screen talents?
Brinda has been directed by Surya Vangala, and he made a lasting impression with his debut project. Not only has he written the script so well, but he has also narrated it on a thumping note.
There is so much drama, thrill, and action in the web series that engross you until the show is over. The twists and turns and the manner in which the cops investigate the case are showcased in a superb manner.
Brinda is high on technical aspects as the locations, camerawork, and especially, the production design is top notch. The detailing done by the director is showcased in every scene of the series.
The editing is a bit dull in the fifth episode, but things get back on track in the sixth and seventh episodes. However, the last episode is a formality as the suspense is out by then and things become predictable.
Brinda has a lot of subplots and the director does not waste too much time to showcase them in a detailed manner. He connects the dots in a solid manner. The connection of the main villain to the heroine, Trisha, is showcased superbly.
The dialogues, action, and the manner in which the killer behaves is showcased in a solid manner. The runtime of the episodes is close to 40 minutes but one does not get the feeling that the series is so long as twists and drama engage you.
