Until this morning, there was no clarity over who would win the Dubbaka by-elections, as the BJP and the TRS were going neck to neck in the polls. While BJP managed to maintain a majority in most of the rounds, TRS gave a really strong fight.
There were a total of 23 rounds in the total elections, where the votes were counted. Along with the first 5 rounds, the BJP maintained a majority in the 8,9,11,20,22,23 rounds, while the TRS maintained a majority in the 6,7,10,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 rounds. The Congress maintained a majority, but just in one round. By the end of the 23rd round, it was clear that the winner was BJP.
At the end of the 23rd round, the BJP was at a majority, with 412 votes more than TRS, taking the total majority to 1470 votes, over TRS. This made Raghunandan Rao the ultimate winner of the elections.
With the BJP winning these elections, BJP has managed to establish itself as a strong contender to TRS in Telangana, and the TRS should be more aware now, than ever, about its power, and its popularity among people.
