BJP was able to make it big, in its alliance with TDP in 2014 elections. But after the things turned ugly between the parties, the Lotus Party had to lose deposits in almost all the constituencies it contested in the recent elections, thus facing a historical debacle in AP, though the party won in rest other states.
Since then, BJP was keen to make an impact in AP and also pledged to form the government in the state by the next elections. To achieve the same, the one strategy BJP is trying to implement is using Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s faith on Christianity.
Recently, the BJP Andhra Pradesh official Twitter handle has posted a video, in which Jagan was allegedly seen ignoring to light the candles. But YSRCP later reacted to the allegations, saying that it was an electric lamp.
Adding to it, the national party also blamed the state government, for Jerusalem Ads on Tirumala tickets and also highlighted the issue of engaging non-Hindu employees in the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Temple at Srisailam.
The strategies of this sort are extremely sensitive and may affect the feelings of lakhs of people, and also disturbs the harmony in the society. So it would be better, if BJP stops cashing on the sentiments of the people and search for the alternatives.
