Though BJP was able to witness a massive witness across the country, its impact in AP is zero. With less than 1 percent voting share, the national party had to face a miserable defeat, for not able to keep the promise of offering special status to AP.
So the national party is now keen on getting back the lost glory in the state. Regarding this, initially, the party is planning to occupy the main opposition position by inducting TDP leaders into the party.

As a part of the strategy, recently four Rajya Sabha MPs from TDP have joined BJP and more leaders are at the exit gates of Naidu’s party.
On the other side, the BJP is also planning to dig back the cases against TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and thus trouble the party leaders who would then choose to quit the party. As Jagan declared that he is not going to invite any MLAs unless they resign from their post, most of the TDP MLAs are then expected to choose BJP, as the next alternative.
BJP is thus planning to vacate TDP and occupy the main opposition position in the state. After TDP, Modi would later target Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, digging out his disproportionate assets case.

Once Jagan goes to jail, he has no other option other than resigning from the CM post. As there is no other popular leader like him in the party, YSRCP may gradually degrade and thus people may look out for the alternative. However, even BJP has no popular leader to represent the party in AP. So it should be seen, how the national party tries to make an impact in Andhra, without offering special status.
