BJP, which is waiting for a right chance to grow its party in Andhra Pradesh, is considering the recent Kapu reservation issue for its mileage.
The Lotus Party State President Kanna Lakshminarayana has responded to it on his official Twitter account. He said that its totally right to provide 5% reservation to Kapus from the Central government’s allotment of 10% reservation to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). He found fault with the YSRCP government for scrapping the reservation allotted to Kapus.
In an attempt to politically grow in the state, the BJP is aiming at Kapus, but on the other side, it is ignoring the fact that it is going in support of the TDP, which actually allotted the 5% reservation to Kapus.
BJP had ties with TDP in the 2014 elections and was able to make the considerable impact in AP then. But the things took ugly turns later due to which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu parted ways and contested all alone, in the recent elections.

While TDP was able to win 23 assembly seats, shockingly BJP completely lost its base in AP, with not even 1 percent vote share. After four Rajyasabha MPs shifted to BJP in the past, it was anticipated that several other TDP leaders may do the same. But nothing of such sort took place.
This might have made the Lotus Party lose its hope on wooing the leaders of TDP. So, the State President might thus have released a statement in favor of TDP, expecting to join the hands once again with the cycle party to face the huge YSRCP in the state.
