The Bharatiya Janata Party is known to have a strong hold in the state of Gujarat, but in recent times, the BJP seems to have lost that status. It now looks like the BJP is trying to do everything it can, to make sure that its position in the state is restored.
For some unknown reason, the BJP recently ousted the Gujarat CM, Vijay Rupani, and has now given the post to Bhupendra Patel. Bhupendra Patel is an MLA, and has never been a minister, and is not even a part of Rupani’s cabinet. Usually, when the CM is removed from his position, the person who wins with more than one lakh votes from the people is given the post. Union minister Mansukh Mandavia and two ministers from the Patel community had been eyeing the post of the CM.
The Patel community is a large and powerful community in Gujarat, and this community has been disappointed with the BJP in the state. The Congress party has fielded Hardik Patel as its candidate, which is drawing the community towards the Congress, and now that the BJP has made Bhupendra Patel as the CM, it is being said that the BJP is trying its best to make things right in Gujarat, once again.
