Amaravati, the people’s capital of Andhra Pradesh, is set to witness a major educational and technological development. A new campus of BITS Pilani, one of India’s most prestigious institutions, will soon be established in Amaravati. This initiative is being led by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group.
Nara Lokesh, the Minister and MLA from Mangalagiri, made this announcement through a post on social media. He described the development as a huge step forward for Amaravati and thanked Mr. Birla for his support in bringing the project to life.
The new campus will be called an “AI+ Campus” and will mainly focus on Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and interdisciplinary learning. It aims to provide students with skills and knowledge that are relevant to the fast-changing digital world. With partnerships from global institutions and a dynamic learning environment, BITS Pilani Amaravati will help create a strong and capable future workforce.
According to the announcement, over ₹2,000 crores will be invested in this project. The campus is expected to accommodate around 7,000 students. It will also feature eco-friendly green buildings and start its operations using digital technologies.
Mr. Birla has stated that “there will be no campus like this in the country,” highlighting the unique and futuristic design of the Amaravati campus. Lokesh expressed his gratitude to Mr. Birla, saying this contribution would play a key role in turning Amaravati into the tech capital of India.
This new BITS Pilani campus is being seen as a major milestone in the journey of Amaravati, transforming it into an educational and technological hub that can attract talent and innovation from across the country and the world.
