It is well known that ever since lock down Traffic police had to face new challenges of not only keeping people away from contracting Covid-19, but also being vigilant in nabbing the traffic rule violators and number plate tampering culprits.
Vehicles being utilised with broken number plates or deliberately concealing number has become manipulative tricks played by violators. Hyderabad’s IPS Anjana Kumar stated earlier that countless vehicle tampering incidents have been registered and warned strict action against such acts.
Now in a surprising way cops in Hyderabad are coming throughout instances of bikers concealing their number plates with face masks to evade from CCTV and getting e-challans.
“As many as 12 people were caught for number plate rule violations at Mehdipatnam and Asifnagar crossroad this week and many had hid the registration number with a face mask,” a senior Hyderabad visitors police official stated. All the 12 have been booked under 420 (dishonest) and 511 (making an attempt to commit offences) of IPC.
In a recent incident, a scholar from Masab Tank was nabbed by the Punjagutta visitors police for using face mask to protect his bike’s registration plate. “We found four pending challans against the vehicle. His vehicle was seized and he was booked for cheating,” one official stated.
