Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a big statement about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC. In the special session of the Vidhan Sabha, Nitish Kumar has said to implement NRC in the state that there is no question of NRC in Bihar. He also noted that it was only in the context of Assam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also clarified this.
In the assembly, CM Nitish Kumar said that we would discuss CAA exclusively. He said that there is no question of NRC. There is no justification for this.

Nitish said, ‘Anything else asked in NPR. We also want to discuss this subject. If everybody wants, then there will be discussion in the House too. We would also like to have a caste census. The census should be caste-based. There should be one more time after 1930.
Let me tell you that recently when reporters questioned Nitish Kumar about NRC, he had said very frankly that Kate’s NRC. Why NRC will apply here Will not be applicable at all.
Significantly, the Citizenship Amendment Act supported by Nitish’s party JDU in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. However, internal discord started at this party. Nitish Kumar’s government in Bihar is currently running with the support of the BJP.
