Now, the actress is one of the finalists on the seventh season of Bigg Boss Tamil, which is hosted by Kamal Haasan. She opened up about her experience with the casting couch in the Telugu industry, particularly with a popular hero, when she was working on a Telugu film in 2000.
The actress said that she was called to the room by the hero of the film that she was working on, and when she didn’t go to his room, she started facing a lot of problems. She said that she was touched inappropriately during the shooting of a forest scene, and when she took this to the notice of the Director, she was slapped so hard that she was wounded. The actress also recalled how the union did nothing to help her, and in turn, told her to forget everything and go back to work.
Vichitra said that she filed a petition, and it was her manager, now husband, who stayed with her and helped her throughout this process. Vichitra said that this incident was the worst experience of her life, which made her quit films. She said she could never open up about it because she couldn’t face the issue. She stated that she opened up about it now because she has finally faced her demons. There are a lot of speculations going around on social media about who this Telugu actor could have been.
