Coronavirus is trembling the state of Maharashtra. Most of the active cases were being reported only from Maharashtra. On the other hand, only less than a week is left for the IPL 2021 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
It is reported that 8 out of the 19 groundsmen working at the stadium tested positive for coronavirus. This has created a major setback for the IPL matches to be held at the Wankhede stadium. The first match of IPL 2021 will be between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. Along with this, 10 more matches will be held in the Wankhede stadium.
Though the match will be held in a closed environment, the groundsmen testing positive for coronavirus is a sign of the booming coronavirus in Maharashtra. The view that the groundsmen from Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana and Sharad Pawar Academy were to be brought in replacement of these 8 groundsmen in Wankhede stadium is currently under consideration.
