After the super hit of Waltair Veerayya, Megastar Chiranjeevi has returned with a new film titled “Bholaa Shankar.” Meher Ramesh directed the film after a break of 10 years, and the movie has been released worldwide today. Let’s delve into our review to find out how the movie performed.
Story:
Bhola and his sister move to Kolkata at a time when the cases of missing girls are increasing in the state. The two begin to lead a happy life there until Bhola becomes a key witness in the case of the kidnapping of these girls, which turns their entire life around. However, Bhola has an ulterior motive, which is shown in the form of a flashback. What is this ulterior motive and why does Bhola get into that case forms the rest of the story.
On-Screen Performances:
Megastar Chiranjeevi is undoubtedly at his best when it comes to driving this film, which seemingly completely rests on his shoulders. He is effortless when it comes to his body language in comedy, action, and whatever scenes we see him in. His emotional scenes are a completely different high, and the movie manages to present Chiru in a way that audiences love to see him in.
Keerthy Suresh’s character comes second only to Chiru’s character, in terms of the scope for performance or even screen presence, and she once again proves what a great actor she is, especially in the emotional scenes, where she manages to make everyone teary-eyed.
Tamannaah doesn’t get a lot of scope in the film, but her scenes work only to a certain extent, as they feel too drawn out after a point. However, it is refreshing to see her in such a role. Sushanth also doesn’t get a lot of scope but does well in what he has. The rest of the supporting cast is good enough and do their part well enough.
Off-Screen Talents:
Director Meher Ramesh has managed to adapt the Tamil film Vedalam for the Telugu audiences quite well, but what he excelled at is presenting Chiru in an entertaining and energetic manner. Chiru’s swag is something that continues to be forever charming, and he managed to bring that out of the actor. Apart from that, Meher managed to get the emotional scenes between Keerthy and Chiru right. While the first half of the film lags a bit, the second half is rather fast-paced and more entertaining as well. The scenes where Chiru can be seen imitating Pawan Kalyan, and the recreation of Khushi’s most famous scene are mildly entertaining too.
The background music by Mahati Swara Sagar is quite good, especially in action and emotional scenes, and manages to create a very good high for the audience. The cinematography is also quite good.
The production values are top-notch, and the editing is alright.

Verdict: Bholaa Shankar is a movie that has its flaws, but still works because of Chiru and how he is presented. The movie could do well with the fans because of its entertainment value

3:40 PM EST : Kolkata for Maha’s college. Tamanna is introduced as Lawyer. Kottara theenumaru is visually better than just the audio version.
3:55 PM EST : Kolkata Police asks all Taxi drivers to give information on girl kidnappings. Shankar ( Chiranjeevi) gives information to police and gets 4 kidnappers killed. Mafia wants to identify the informer and kill him. Sushanth comes from Dubai and falls in love with Maha(Keerthi Suresh). Scenes between Chiranjeevi and Vennala Kishore brings some laughs.
4:15 PM EST :Ship Action episode where Shankar (Chiranjeevi) kills one of the goons is good ( one of three brothers who runs girl trafficking mafia). Shankar had a flashback which is yet to be revealed. Mafia is behind Shankar. Keerthi Suresh and Sushanth wedding gets fixed. Milky Beauty song is a treat for melody lovers with elegant dance moves.

5:20 PM EST: Second half of the movie starts with mass elements that will be a treat for fans.Chiru enacting Pawan Kalyan’s mannerism, yeh mera jahaan and Kushi scene will be a feast for fans.
Final Report: BholaShankar is an out and out commercial entertainer which caters to all audiences.Chiranjeevi steals the show with well rounded performance. Keerthi Suresh excelled in sentimental scenes. It has a simple story yet elements like comedy, action and sentiment are blended well with a good screenplay.BGM is excellent in action and emotional scenes.Second half has better content than the first.
