Former Bollywood actress, Bhagyashree, is about to be seen in the role of Prabhas’s mother in his upcoming film, Radhe Shyam.
She was introduced as a leading lady in Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan’s film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya. She was seen as Balakrishna’s sister in Yuvaratna Rana, and as the leading lady in Rajasekhar’s Omkaram. Bhagyashree has been seen a number of films throughout her career, including in Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Bhojpuri languages, apart from Telugu.
After several decades, the actress is coming back to Tollywood, with Radhe Shyam. Here’s what Bhagyashree had to say about Radhe Shyam, in an interview with her:
How was your experience working for Radhe Shyam?
I was offered the role of a young mother character in Thalaivi and Rade Shyam at the same time. Although the two films started simultaneously, “Radhe Shyam” was delayed due to the pandemic. I am happy, and it’s an honour to be sharing screen space with a pan-Indian star like Prabhas. Prabhas is a great actor who has a lot of craze, and despite his craze, he’s a very down to earth person.
Whenever he’s on set, there’s always a family environment, and he makes sure that everyone around him is comfortable. UV Creations made the film with good production values never compromised on anything. The producers took good care of us, even when it was freezing cold in Georgia.
Why did you quit films after such a short career?
I did some movies after Maine Pyar Kiya, and I thought that it was the right time to get married. Then I got busy with my family, which is why I had to quit films.
Now that my children have grown up, and with my children and my husband greatly encouraging me to do films once again, I have decided to get back to acting.
Any words about the Telugu industry, and how are you planning to take your career forward?
I like the Telugu film industry very much. Even in Bollywood today, everyone is looking towards the Telugu and Tamil industry, because a lot of good films are being produced from Telugu.
I am ready to do not only mother characters in Telugu but also roles that have a good scope for performance, in Telugu, Tamil, and other languages as well.
