Clinical trials for treating Covid-19 patients with plasma treatment started at the BMC Victoria Hospital here on Saturday, Karnataka health Education Minister K. Sudhakar said. The minister said plasma treatment holds incredible guarantee for coronavirus patients. Karnataka has so far witnessed 500 corona virus cases
Sudhakar tweeted that he was glad to report the commencement of clinical trials for plasma treatment that hold phenomenal importance to treat seriously effected Covid-19 patients. Sudhakar commenced the clinical trials in association with state Health Minister B. Sriramulu.
The occasion was graced by the ministers and a couple of health specialists by keeping up social distancing norms as per the covid-19 regulations. Victoria Hospital Dean Dr C R Jayanti, Dr Vishal Rao of Bangalore Institute of Oncology, who was given consent for clinical trials by ICMR and Principal BMCRI Dr.Ramesh were available during the trials.
Dr.Sudhakar in a next tweet said that the plasma of patients recovered from corona virus plays a crucial role in warding off the disease in newly affected patients. So he appealed to many recovered patients to donate their blood in order to curb corona.
Talking on the event Dr Sudhakar said “This is a proud moment to celebrate and we are certain that plasma treatment causes Covid19 influenced to recoup. I have constantly kept up that plasma treatment is powerful for the patients effected with the virus and mitigated when we got consent from the Center for preliminaries and ready to begin trials in only 3-4 days.”
