Bengaluru has been placed on high alert after the city police received a bomb threat email claiming to be from the ‘White Collar Terror Team’ linked to Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed. The message, sent under the name Mohit Kumar, warned that a series of blasts would take place from 7 PM targeting Kempegowda International Airport and four major malls — Orion Mall, Lulu Mall, Forum South Mall and Mantri Square Mall. The threat triggered an immediate and intensive security response across the city.
Police suspect this warning could be connected to the terror module involved in the November 10 Red Fort blast in Delhi. Investigators believe the same network may be trying to create panic in multiple cities. Bengaluru Police Commissioner received the threat directly, prompting the force to register an FIR under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) Section 173 and launch a full-scale probe.
Security has been tightened at all mentioned locations. Bomb squads and dog squads have conducted checks, while teams are tracking the email’s IP address and origin to determine whether the threat is genuine or a deliberate attempt to scare the public. Officials are treating the situation with utmost seriousness, given that the Delhi investigation recently revealed that five doctors had allegedly funded the terror module with ₹26 lakh for planned city attacks.
Police continue to scan sensitive areas, increase patrols and verify all leads. Bengaluru residents have been urged to remain calm, follow police instructions and report anything suspicious. The investigation is ongoing to identify the individuals behind the email and assess the actual level of risk.
