Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming action drama Coolie, helmed by hit director Lokesh Kanagaraj, is creating a major stir ahead of its August 14, 2025 release. The film has sparked immense interest not just in Tamil Nadu but also in the Telugu-speaking regions.
Reflecting this buzz, the Telugu theatrical rights have reportedly been sold for an eye-popping amount. Industry sources suggest that top distributors Suniel Narang, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju have jointly acquired the rights for over ₹48 crore (excluding GST) one of the highest deals for a Tamil film in recent times. While fans await an official confirmation, the news has already sent expectations soaring.
Adding to the excitement, the film’s first single, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is set to launch today at 6 PM.
Coolie boasts a powerful ensemble including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna (as the antagonist), Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir, with a special cameo by Aamir Khan. Sun Pictures is producing the multilingual blockbuster.
