Scientists at the University of Florida Atlantic are warning people to be careful while using their bathrooms and toilets.
They found that flushing the toilet would release thousands of airborne droplets which could spread various viruses, including the corona.
“Viruses are released when water is released through the flush after the processes like hand wash, sneezing, speaking, etc.
Together with the viruses in the feces, water droplets can fly up to five feet in the room. Depending on their size and air circulation, they travel for at least 20 seconds,” said researcher Siddhartha Verma.
Experts suggest that the spread of the virus can be prevented to some extent by wearing a mask when using public toilets, washing hands, and using a flush.
