The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is angry with skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri due to the fact that they violated the bio-bubble rules before the fourth Test against England.
Going into details, before the start of the fourth Test, Team India coach Ravi Shastri, Captain Kohli and some other Team India members participated in a book launch event. A few days after the event, Ravi Shastri, later bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar were diagnosed with Covid-19.
All three players, including Kohli, received a negative report. However, the Indian team did not seek permission from the BCCI to go to the book launch event (contrary to bio-bubble rules).
With this, the board is taking this issue very seriously. The BCCI, which sought their explanation on the matter, seems to have gently reprimanded Kohli. Despite BCCI Secretary Jay Shah warning players to be extremely careful after Rishabh Pant fell victim to Covid-19, the BCCI chiefs seem to be outraged that the Indian team has been violating bio-rules and acting carelessly.
