The T20 World Cup is scheduled to commence on the 17th of October. The BCCI has announced the squad for the much-awaited world cup.
The tweet from BCCI regarding India’s squad read “TEAM – Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.”
Team India former captain MS Dhoni will be mentoring the side in the T20 World Cup, as confirmed by the BCCI.
Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chara will be the standby players. Senior players like Shikhar Dhawan, and Yuzvendra Chahal were dropped for the world cup.
India will be facing Pakistan in its first match which is on 24th October. The final match will be played on the 14th of November. The tournament will be entirely held in UAE.
