Mathew Wade’s Australia have lost to Bangladesh by 23 runs in the opening T20. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 131 for 7 in 20 overs. Shakib Al Hasan (36; 3 fours), Naim (30; 2 fours, 2 sixes) have helped the team to get the upper hand in the series.
Josh Hazlewood was the best of the Australian bowlers, he took 3 wickets for 24 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Mitchell Starc also took a couple of wickets to complete 50 wickets in the shortest format. He has now become the leading wicket-taker for Australia in T20Is.
The Aussies then went on to score 108 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh (45; 4 fours, 1 six) struggled alone while the rest of the players failed to contribute to the team. Bangladesh bowler Nasum Ahmed took 4 wickets while Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam scalped a couple of wickets each. The second T20 will be played at the same venue today.
