Bandla Ganesh, Film producer and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president has been sentenced to one year in prison for a cheque bounce case.
In 2019, Bandla Ganesh borrowed Rs. 95 lakh from Jetti Venkateswarlu, who lives in Muppalla village. Later, Ganesh wrote a cheque for the same amount on behalf of Parameshwara Art Productions.
However, when Venkateswarlu tried to cash the cheque at the bank, it bounced due to insufficient funds or other issues. After Jetti Venkateswarlu realized that the cheque from Bandla Ganesh had bounced, he promptly reported the incident to the police and filed an official complaint.
The police conducted an investigation and confirmed that the cheque was indeed invalid. Subsequently, the second munsif magistrate court in Ongole heard the case. Following the arguments, the court sentenced Ganesh to one year in prison and ordered him to pay back the Rs. 95 lakh. However, the court granted Ganesh the opportunity to appeal the verdict within one month at a higher court.
