Owning a luxury car is a thrilling achievement for many and some people go beyond just the vehicle and seek out a special registration number to make their car stand out even more. They are willing to pay a premium for the number they want. A notable example of this is Nandamuri Balakrishna, an actor and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Andhra Pradesh.
Recently, Balakrishna added a brand-new BMW to his collection. To give it a unique touch, he took part in an auction organized by the Khairatabad Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Telangana. After successfully bidding, he secured the registration number “TG09 F0001” at a cost of ₹7.75 lakh.
This auction turned out to be huge for the Khairatabad RTO which generated a total of ₹37.15 lakh in just one day. A significant portion of these high-value registrations were bought by businesses, showcasing their importance for corporate image. For Balakrishna, the car’s registration number appears to be lucky or sentimental or might be a fancy and stylish one.
