Only Nandamuri Balakrishna can create history and rewrite history, said Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh. Speaking at a grand felicitation event in Hyderabad, where Balakrishna was honored for entering the World Book of Records, Lokesh praised him as a true legend.
Lokesh said Balakrishna is always number one — in cinema, in service, in television, and in politics. After the world-renowned Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, it is Balakrishna who created a political hat-trick. He is not just a star but the only Mass Maharaja with die-hard fans even after fifty years in the industry. From his debut in 1974 to Akhanda 2, Balakrishna acted in 109 films, including movies that ran for 1000 days. His craze only keeps growing.
According to Lokesh, Balakrishna is the rare actor who succeeded in every genre — mythological, historical, spiritual, folklore, socio-fantasy, science fiction, and biopics. Whether it is Gautamiputra Satakarni or Akhanda, every role became memorable. With Sri Rama Rajyam, he once again reminded everyone of the legendary NTR.
Lokesh also highlighted Balakrishna’s success on OTT platforms. His show Unstoppable broke records with sky-high ratings and proved his unbeatable connection with audiences. Balakrishna also received several top honors including three Nandi Awards and SIIMA awards.
Calling him a true Bhola Shankar, Lokesh said Balakrishna is a man of pure heart who always stands by people in times of need. He supported flood victims in 2009, donated more than one crore rupees during the Covid-19 pandemic, and gave strength to the industry by completing Akhanda in the toughest times.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, actress Jayasudha, film and political leaders, and family members joined the ceremony, celebrating the glory of Balakrishna.
