Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna met with Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao today, and felicitated the minister, calling him the People’s Leader. This has come as a major shocker to the political circles of both the Telugu states, as Telangana Chief Minister KCR and Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu have been hostile towards each other for a few decades now.
Balakrishna’s compliment comes in light of the gift that Harish Rao has given him. Harish Rao has given a tax exemption of Rs. 6 Crores to Balakrishna, following which Balayya made his remarks. This exemption was for the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital that Balayya takes care of. The hospital is famous for treating patients suffering from cancer, at a minimal cost, and even no cost, depending on the situation.
The hospital treats anyone and everyone in need and has been doing so for a long time now. The hospital was established after Balayya’s mother’s name, as she passed away due to cancer, in her memory. This is not the first time that the TRS government appreciated the services being provided by the hospital, as there have been many exemptions granted by the government to the hospital in the past as well.
